Fighting crime “H&H” careers
CSI TV shows have created a social phenomenon; both students, as well as the general population, are beginning to see science as much more than something that requires long and complicated mathematical or chemical procedures. The cast of any of these shows has presented a realm where scientists are not only efficient and savvy in what they do, but also savvy in common culture issues as well as maintaining a sexy look.
This has caused students all over the globe to look around and apply to any of these careers.
- Medical Examiner
- Forensic Lab Technician
- Forensic analyst
Any of these careers will offer the student that takes them on a wide variety of possibilities, since the characters on the TV series portray, each one of the lab technicians has a specialty, a “degree” so to speak that will allow him or her to participate and excel at this particular forensic activity.
Therefore, Forensic Lab technicians and Forensic Analysts have sub specialties; however, it is important for the student to realize that such specialties will require additional time for them to study, making these long career choices. It is important also to mention that these careers require the recently graduated student to work his or her way up and there is no easy way to do that but to work several years under a colleague.
